*UPDATE* Casting has started for the "ALBRECHT"

Casting has started for the ALBRECHT mortar. Photo's to come soon. This kit will be released in a limited run of 25 kits numbered. Casting are looking very good with minimum clean up required. Castings are in tan resin.

ALBRECHT Mortar

"Albrecht" Mortar This mortar is a wooden tube 2 meters (6ft.8in.)in length and 25 cm. (9.84 in.)in diameter, reinforced with wire.
The bottom of the barrel rests on a wooden block. A metallic stand supports the barrel and a handwheel screw elevates and depresses the barrel.


Grabenmörser

For those not acquainted with the Grabenmörser here is a short historical note.

Grabenmörser The Erdmörser or "buried mortar" is made of a wooden cylinder reinforced with wire. The inside diameter is 25 cm. The mortar is buried in the bottom of the trench and the projectile slides along a wooden racer 2 m. 40 (7 feet 10 inches) in length, semi-circular in cross section and resting on the parapet with an inclination of 45°.




INTRODUCTION

La Grande Guerre Models 14+18 is a new model company that will be devoted to The Great War in 54mm. We are excited to announce two models in production at this time, The German GrabenMörser, and the German 25cm ALBRECHT Mörser. Each kit is designed for the experienced modeler in multi media kits. They will include copper, wood, plastic, plaster and resin. All kits will come with a booklet introducing the Modeler to a brief history of each production, along with comprehensive building instructions. I will also be sharing photos of my own Models, and I am very interested in sharing your World War One models as well.
